The seminar covers the basics of thermal building simulation and its implementation with the simulation program TRNSYS. A concrete step by step building example, a simulation model, is developed and the dependence on outer boundary conditions (climate, building site), design and technical parameters (facade design, ventilation, heat storage, internal loads, comfort settings, etc.) is investigated.

The participants are enabled to model simple buildings or portions of buildings with the TRNSYS program system, critical to assess the results and identify possibilities for optimization.
