The focus of this elective course seminar is the computational assessment of urban microclimate and user comfort in outer space using the 3D microclimate model ENVI-met 3.1 (www.envi-met.com).
This course provides the basics to the urban climate (E.g. urban heat island) and the thermal comfort of the people in lectures, finally to experimentally apply the model of ENVI-met on a case study of a space.
Since the seminar focuses on the combination of i) qualitative and ii) a quantitative evaluation of the microclimate in relation to planning; design considerations are developed for the improvement of urban and thermal quality of the investigated free space, simulated in ENVI-met as an alternative and with the actual state compared..
